Purba Medinipur district is part of the lower Indo-Gangetic Plain and Eastern coastal plains. Topographically, the district can be divided into two parts (a) almost entirely flat plains on the west, east and north, (b) the coastal plains on the south. The vast expanse of land is formed of alluvium and is composed of younger and coastal alluvial. The elevation of the district is within 10 meters above the mean sea level
At the outset , I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one member , office bearer, Coache, Technical team members and participants of various sports and games disciplines undertaken by us for their unwavering dedication and tireless efforts in advancing our Association's cause. your hard work and commitment have made a significant impact, and I am privileged to be a part of this collective journey. Throughout our history, we have demonstrated our commitment to developing sports activities in our district and striving to make a difference in the lives of related individuals. Our Association has been at the forefront of tackling pressing sports related issues with compassion, ingenuity, and unwavering determination. However, I must acknowledge that our work is far from complete. As we navigate the ever-changing socioeconomic landscape we find it extremely difficult to achieve our objectives owing to available limited resources and inadequate sports infrastructure in our district . In the face of challenges, let us remember that our collective strength lies in our shared vision and unwavering commitment to our mission. As we move forward, let us remain steadfast in our dedication to sports development in our district knowing that our efforts will shape a brighter future for our Association and those we serve. I want to express my utmost gratitude for your trust, support, and dedication to our organization. It gives me immense pleasure in welcoming all my esteemed coworkers of Purba Medinipur District Sports Association. I extend my sincere best wishes to all stakeholders, members and affiliated entities for displaying missionary zeal and enthusiasm in developing multiple games and sports in our district. We have been able to conduct all our District Championships in time and has been able to send the combined district Teams at State level Competitions . I am of the opinion that we have lot of potential in Athletics , Cricket and football and we need to groom them . Performance of our sportspersons in various championships has been magnificent as many of our athletes excelled at State and Nation Level. Purba Medinipur Cricket Development Committee, an affiliate body of our association has emerged state champion in 2024. Some of our activities are enumerated hereunder : Being an affiliated unit , Our association is conducting BABY Leagues under AIFF , Grass Root Coaches Training Program under AIFF , Hockey Training Camps under West Bengal Hockey Association , Participating in various age group wise inter district football championship under West Bengal District Sports Federation and Indian Football Association , participating in State Athletic Championship under West Bengal Athletic Association. We are endeavoring to promote boxing in our district too. But still lot of work has to be done. I would like to mention that we received support from many individuals and organizations to make our journey possible without which it would have not been possible to overcome our infrastructure and resources requirements to achieve our objectives.
